Next up on Fluid Electronics, Irish producer Derek Carr joins up the fold with his “Harvest Time EP”, featuring Dutch techno staple Deniro on remix duty. Carr’s style, stretching from low-slung techno to squelchy electro, via breaks and chiselled IDM, teleports us to a zero-G headspace where shape and substance merge into an effervescing and highly stimulating maelstrom of sound. The very idea of self-reflexive dance music.

'Agent By Default In Hybrid Systems' is a deep dive into today’s and tomorrow’s society. La BOA presents their fourth album titled “La Bestia”, conceived during the pandemic era. The title references the freight train that travels from Central America to the United States, carrying thousands of migrants in search of the American dream.
This album features six tracks dedicated to exploring and drawing influence from the music of the greater Caribbean region, with the aim of recapturing a sound from before the digital age. Special transmission coming up next on Fluid Funk with a choice split effort from Malta’s Melchior Sultana and South-African producer KaySoul. Whilst Melchior’s been honing his deeply lush, sun-streaked sound over the past fifteen years with unfaltering dedication, culminating in his milestone full-length masterpiece ‘Mediterran’ on Jus-Ed’s Underground Quality from 2015, Johannesburg-based vibist KaySoul’s been dishing out proper bubbly, funky house joints on a drip tease flex, including his solo release “Click EP” on Fluid Funk in 2022. This release oozes pure feelgood coastal vibrations and loungey poolside hedonism thru and thru.
This album draws inspiration from the sounds of 1970s New York salsa and en- gages with the contemporary language of Colombian salsa. Featuring a four-trombone arrangement, it showcases solo performances and musical inter-ludes. The album also includes collaborations with prominent figures in today's salsa scene, such as Ray Bayona, Eliazar Medina, Marcial Istúriz, and Wason Bra-zobán, among others.
