A new Guided By Voices album will always be special and his one, Crystal Nuns Cathedral, is no different. It is a statement, a challenge, a monument and call to arms, and is the latest release in the continuation of a characteristically prolific period for the band. The indie-rock vets put out three LPs in 2020 alone and then another two last year. Following Earth Man Blues in April 2021 and It's Not Them. It Couldn't Be Them. It Is Them! in October, this is another one with big power-pop energy and stomping drums, jangling, angular guitars and much more.
